What happened to Vitters? I haven't seen him listed in the box scores.

Dinged up and day to day.

Hand injury.

Good pitching day. Anybody got today's starters GB/FB ratio's on hand that they can post?

Holliman: 0.39 GO-AO

Samardzija: 0.57 GO-AO

Ceda: 0.69 GO-AO

Acosta: 1.20 GO-AO

Samardzija leaves after 3 giving up 3 hits, 6 walks, and 3 runs. He also struck out 3. Just a very strange outing overall, and makes me wonder if he was trying a different pitch as his main pitch that caused him to both lose all control and yet have more strikeouts than normal.

Samardzjia didn't even hit 90 on the gun tonight. He struggled mightily with every pitch except the change up, which he located pretty well.

This is my second time seeing him since his move to Double-A and I haven't been remotely imressed with either performance.

Daytona nearly blew an 8-2 lead, but they hold on to win 8-7. Eyre pitched a perfect 9th. Ceda went 5, allowing 5 hits, 2 runs, 6 K's/2 BB's, 2 GO's/7 FO's. Papelbon gave up a run on two hits and a walk in two innings of relief. Tony Thomas was 2/5 with his 6th steal of the season. Russ Canzler went 3/4 with a homer and four runs driven in.

Tennessee was blown out, 12-2. Juan Mateo with another craptacular relief outing: 2.2 IP, 8 hits, 7 runs, 3 K's/0 BB's, two long balls given up. Colvin was 2/4 with two strikeouts.

Iowa up huge as they lead Memphis 16-3 in the 7th. Holliman had a good outing tonight: 6.1 IP, 7 hits, 3 runs, 2 K's/1 BB, 6 GO's/11 FO's. Every Iowa player has a hit except Koyie Hill (shocking). Holliman helped his own cause by going 2/4 with a double and 4 driven in. Even Walrond has a hit.

I can't believe the Chiefs actually played on Friday night. They were losing when I fell asleep, so glad to hear that they pulled it out in the bottom of the 9th. That said, it's really too bad, because it was Bradley night, and they were auctioning jerseys for charity...by 11:30 (or whenever they finally finished) there couldn't have been too many people left in the stands to bid. Hope they were still able to raise a bunch of $$$.
