BTW, Scott Eyre is expected to pitch an inning for Daytona today.

Sandberg tossed in the second in Lansing. Apparently Burke hits one "15 feet fair" according to Nathan that would have been a two run HR, but the umpire calls it foul. Sandberg tossed and someone throws a Gatorage jug onto the field...

In the third, Peoria gets bases loaded with no outs and leaves them that way.

Having a rough time offensively...

Minor league umps suck.

Hung-Wen Chen doesn't. Fantastic start for him: 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 3 K, 0 BB.

AZ Phil at Fitch today

Suspended Robert Hernandez threw very well again today. And Venezuelan bonus baby Larry Suarez had season ending shoulder surgery last week. :(

Oh, and Dwayne Kemp hit a 2-run HR.

Wow, everyone on Peoria has 1 hit besides Samson and Mercedes. Donaldson and Gonzalez each have a double too!

Peoria up 1-0 after 6.

Tough loss for Peoria as Lansing scored two runs in the bottom of the 8th to win it 2-1. Peoria didn't have any hits after Raisin's update on the game. Donaldson was 1/4 with a double and an RBI.

Tennessee is up 1-0 after 4. Watson: 4 IP, 2 hits, 0 runs, 1 K/1 BB, 6 GO's/4 FO's. Deeds is 1/1 with a walk and a double. Colvin is 0/2 so far.

And Daytona leads St. Lucie 2-1 in the 6th. Scott Eyre pitched the first inning and gave up a hit and a walk, but he also got a strikeout and didn't give up any runs (accomplishment). Maestri is pitching well: 4 IP, 4 hits, 1 run, 1 K/0 BBs, 7 GO's/3 FO's.

The ejection came after Sandberg objected to plate umpire Ben May's ruling that a would-be home run by Kyler Burke went foul.

With no outs and a runner on first in the second inning, the Chiefs right fielder belted a fly ball to right.

It cleared the fence and landed on a street running adjacent to Oldsmobile Park.

May called it foul although Chiefs broadcaster Nathan Baliva said it looked to be fair by 10 feet.

After Sandberg returned to the dugout after his ejection, a water jug from the bench emptied onto the field.

Sandberg has been tossed 6 times since starting to manage Peoria last year.

Colvin now with 4 walks in his last 3 games. Not bad for a guy that walked 5 times in 62 games last year in Tennessee. Showing decent pop with 9 of his 19 hits for extra bases, including 6 of his last 10.

He's still at just .244/.306/.449, with a 19/6 K/BB. Although that's a significant step up from where he was a week or so ago. I think he was in the 500s for awhile.
