You can talk about the card's magic pixie dust but it's happening for the Cubs too.

Look what Larry has done with Dempster. (so far). ;D

I find it highly comical all the Cardinal fans who are expecting Chris Carpenter back in the 2nd half, starting, and being the Chris Carpenter of old. Its not going to happen. Maybe he will return to his former self next year, but he wont this year.

This thinking sounds familiar.

This post looks familiar.

hmmmmm most pitchers on all teams have arm problems.

Duncan has a way of squeezing one or two great seasons out of mediocre pitchers. However, their arm usually falls off sometime between the 2nd and 3rd season underneath of him. Name one guy who has had extended success under Duncan that didn't end up with major arm problems. Matt Morris is the only one that I can think of off of the top of my head that was good and lasted more than a couple of years under Duncan.

Most pitchers on all teams...in other words, most pitchers in baseball? Are you trying to say that most pitchers in baseball have arm problems?

Look at Duncan's track record with the Cardinals. How many guys were outstanding for them for more than a couple of years without developing arm problems? Morris is the only one I can think of.

Wasn't Welly with the Rangers before that?
No; you're probably thinking of Koronka. Welly was with Florida and Kansas City after leaving the Cubs.

I forgot who Welly went too, thanks NCCF. And I think Red was right, it may have been Leicester.

Leicester never pitched for the Rangers at the major league level, but he was in their organization in the minor leagues for awhile.

I swore I thought I saw Leicester pitched for the Rangers (maybe it was spring training, or something), but your right, Leicester never pitched for the Rangers at the ML level. It's so hard to keep up with so many medicore arms that Hendry has manage to cut loose.

i think wellemeyer puts up very similar stats to ted lilly this year.

40m vs. 300k...

I don't. Wellemeyer has been below league average since coming into the majors, and Lilly has been above league average. If Welly can keep his era under 5 for the full season, colour me surprise.
