Am I the only one concerned that Zambrano is only sitting at 87-89. I know its cold, but still.

He hit 95 in the first and 94 in the second.

the last two have been 84 and 85.

He was at 95 and 96 in the first inning according to MLB Gameday. In the Sheets AB his fastballs were 89-93 and to Kendall they were at 90. Z is fine.

DeRosa flashing some leather early on. Hopefully his bat will improve.

Z walks Kendall on 4 pitches.

Inexcusable. That should be a $2500 fine right there.

Kendall is actually a very patient hitter... Or once was.

Pie only swung at one pitch he shouldn't have. And he was right not to swing at strike two. Keep it in perspective, people.

Strike 2 (at the knees slightly inside fastball) was the pitch that Pie was constantly taking for strike 3 last year though. It may look inside, but if the umpires are consistently calling it you simply have to adjust.

That doesn't mean I'm concerned yet. I'll give him the time to adjust first.

I'll never forget when the Cubs made that trade...I was watching the game on ESPN and Rick Sutcliffe said this gem:

"WOW! The Cubs just got better in a hurry!"

no.
