I always thought the extra off days on opening week were for specifically filling in rain outs. No reason why they couldn't just play the game tomorrow.

Ernie probably was the only Cub that I know of to love the dbl. header. I remeber him telling Jack one day that he could wrap up the season real quick if they would just play a dbl. header once a week.

Yeah, that's what I heard... the reason they have so many open dates early is because of weather issues. Why wouldn't they play it tomorrow? I live down near Joliet, southwest of Chicago, and it's storming and raining right now, same up north.

Dan Roan (WGN) was just live there a few minutes ago and said it's raining harder there now than it has been all day (12:15). Then Tom Skilling said that there is a break in the weather coming soon, so it looks good to get it in after a delay.
