This whole thing would be resolved if either Murton could play CF or Fukudome is willing to play CF all season and Pie and Murton platoon in RF

Or Fukudome would agree to switching between center and right depending on the pitcher...Against lefties you go Fukudome/Murton in center/right, and against righties you go Pie/Fukudome in center/right. Probably too much ask from Fuku, but hey....we can dream right?

Yuck. That's 13 walks now for Hill in only 12 1/3 innings. I'm not worried about him long-term, but he needs to find some semblance of control in the next start or two or it will bleed over into the season.

Might it have something to do with the fact that they're screwing with his delivery so that he doesn't get stolen on as much?

If thats the case I'd stop. At the rate he is walking people, they don't need to steal. I'd prefer to give up the stolen base if it helps him throw strikes.

At least he got 2 K's.

EDIT: I didn't see Hill was replaced.

Wow - he was terrible today. Is there any reason behind it (working on new delivery/pitch/etc), bruce, or did he just have a craptastic day.

Ok put me on the officially worried list, if hill is going to be this inconsistant we have a major hole between Z,Lilly and the rest. Add to that it's no lock for Lilly to repeat last year and we may have a major prob.

I think(hope) it was just a bad outing.

That said, yeah, if hill tanks we our rotation would be heavily relying on Dempster and Lieber not to suck.

Possible Hill doesn't make rotation to begin the season?

Not a snowballs chance in hell he doesn't make the rotation.

At least that's my assumption.
