Does anyone know how Wood looked? How long Hill went?

Wood went an inning, gave up a couple hits and a run but did strike out 2.

Hill managed to go 1 1/3 innings. He only gave up 1 hit but walked 6 guys.

I'm a little worried about Hill. The most discouraging thing is that, correct me if I'm wrong, all of his starts have been shorter than he wanted. He hasn't really stretched out his arm yet has he? If his next outing is a short one, that would obstensibly mean he wouldn't have gotten the desired amount of innings you want out of a starter heading into the regular season.

Hill has 1 option left, so I'm thinking if he has another short outing (how many times is he scheduled to start?) it's entirely possible that he starts the year out in Iowa to get his arm stronger and the Cubs go to a 4 man rotation early in the year. What is the possiblilty of that?

Good to see Wood get in there today. I'm sure Lou wanted him to sit out another day but I'm guessing Kerry wanted to get out there and just shut everyone up who was overreacting (me).

Fukudome now 0-4 with 3K's

Lee's BA down to .156

That's a bit concerning

No it's not. In the case of Fukudome, it is most likely that he is trying to learn the American strike zone, and he to adjust to the American style of pitching. When the season starts, you won't see too man, if at all 3 strike out games for Fukudome.

Lee has always been a slow starter, so unless he pulls a 07 Richie Sexson in 2008, it's not that much of a concern.

Goodness no. Hill isn't going to get his curveball going down here. He's got little chance to find a rhythm, considering he's just starting out for the year and he relies on a sweeping curve that won't bite in the desert air.

Hill will at least get a chance to find himself @ Wrigley before the Cubs send him down, IMO.

If my memory serves me correctly, but Hill was said to be working on a new delivery. That might be the reason why he is struggling a little bit.

He'll start in the bigs for sure, but the lack of control is worrisome. It's one thing if you get rocked because you can't get the curve down, it's another when you can't even find the plate.
