Death, taxes and a brittle Wood. Just glad that a hot tub wasn't nearby. Can't wait for Lou and Hendry to spin it.

"Blah blah blah brittle blah blah hot tub blah blah told you so."

Big deal. S'long as it's not the shoulder or the elbow.

Someone here said it best a few years back, the exchange went something like,

"Wood gets back problems if he doesn't use a special board for his bed and get a good night's sleep."

"A good night's sleep? What would you guys do if you were in bed next to Sarah Wood all night? Season over."

It's a stiff back. The Cubs haven't ruled out his appearance tomorrow so I don't see the big deal at this point. The Score is making this into more than it is right now (as they always seem to do).

Lou says he can't pitch until Saturday at the earliest. 11 trips to the DL indicates a history to me. Let me know when you see the light.

Last I heard, the Cubs were at least hopeful he'd pitch tomorrow. Where did you pull "Saturday at the earliest" from?

Furthermore, how many of those 11 trips to the DL were for back-related issues?

Hey, history-lover. The back is nothing new. See the posts before yours. There's a difference between the injuries and surgeries that have sidelined him for much of his career and the back problem he has to deal with in the very short term from time to time.

Lou said it in a post game interview. He doesn't even want Wood to sit on a bus for 2 hours for Friday's game. And Lou promised he would name his closer by the end of this week. So, if Lou is a man of his word, it will be Marmol or Howry. The other option is if they can't deal Marquis, he may have to move Dempster back to the pen.

I don't think any of his 11 DL trips were back related, but he hasn't gone in two straight regular season games. Back to back weeks may be a stretch for him.

Oh look..it's Sarah...wheeeeee.
