Dayn Perry from Foxsports predicted Geovanny Soto as NL ROY. Mentions Fukudome, but predicts Kuroda will finish 2nd. Of course, his predictions mention the fact that Bruce and Votto probably won't get enough playing time in Cincinnati to win it.

While it's fun to see one of our players being predicted to win ROY, it's really completely ridiculous to make such a prediction before game #1.

I take it you've never seen Soto play. Not only will he take ROY, but don't be surprised when he takes the MVP and Zambrano shares the Cy Young award with him.

I'll be happy if he hits at a 270/350 clip.

I would be ecstatic. That's like Barrett when he was hitting, plus Soto's not an idiot on the basepaths, and can actually play some D.

Let's just hope the cubs go all the way so he is considered for the award, and so the cubs go all the way.

They'll get plenty of playing time. After their traded for an aging player to be named later.

Lieber?

It would take more than Lieber to get Bruce. Throw in Cintron and Koyie Hill.

I dunno, I think we could get an autographed toothpick thrown in to sweeten the deal. That might be the dealbreaker for Dusty though.

Soto will not only win ROY, he'll also beat out McCain, Hillary and Obama for President, then he will cure world hunger and replace Superman as the world's most popular super hero. All of that before breakfast...

Of course the basepaths shake when he runs but yeah, I agree with you.

I'm a little worried he's going to struggle offensively but as long a he stays focused and plays good D, he'll be ok and get back into the groove hitting wise. My guess for him is a 240/320 line with 14 HR's. Unless, he can go the other way then he'll be fine and put up pretty good numbers.

Soto will be the best Italian in Chicago with a baseball bat since Al Capone. They will change the name of a double to a "Soto".

Lol, that's absurd. It's not much of a prediction if you can wait until the season starts and look for a clear front-runner to shake out after April or May.
