That one was tough because I didn't want to double up on Rookie of the Year. He should get points for being played by crazy Gary Busey, though.

Nice!

Tony Danza from Angels in the Outfield should be a starting pitcher, based only on guts and grit. And like I commented in the blog, Adrien Brody from that movie is the perfect late inning pinch-runner and defensive replacement.

1st Clu Heyward- Major League (played for the Yankees)

2nd Joey Lawrence's character from Blossom

SS- Jimmy from Bull Durham

3rd- Mclain from Diehard

DH- Tom Selleck from that movie where he goes to Japan

RF- obvious choice from the Natural

CF- Willie Hayes

LF- the kid from left field

C- John Candy Brewster's Millions

edit: I forgot Billy Dee Williams from that movie he did about the all balck team that travelled the south somebody and the something all stars.

Also: What about Chuck Connors? His character on the Rifleman- or Branded! could play 2nd base.

My list:

C- Crash Davis in Bull Durham

1B- Lou Collins in Litle Big League

2B and SS- The guys from Rookie of they Year, Angels in the Outfield and Bull Durham for a tie

3B- Roger Dorn in Major League

OF- Roy Hobbs in the Natural

OF- Willie Mays Hays in Major League

OF- Mitchell from Angels in the Outfield

SP- Chet Steadman in Rookie of the Year

SP- Billy Chapel in For Love of the Game

RP- The Duke in Major League

RP- Henry Rowengartner in Rookie of the Year

Man, that is not a great list. Most of those guys are players past their prime getting one more chance (Hobbs, Chapel, Steadman, Collins) and Davis is an old career minor leaguer.

3rd- Mclain from Diehard

That's a Cubs tie in with Scott McClain who was nicknamed "Die Hard" as he single handedly proved that ST is not a good way to judge talent.

Ah, gotcha. I remember him. He was the MVP of the PCL a couple years ago I think.

No mention of Jack Parkman for catcher? I know you don't want to double up on the same movie, but he's much better than a career minor leaguer.

Also, off the bench you'd have to have Hedo (Heddo?) from Rookie of the Year. I say pinch hitter simply because the announcers seemed to be stunned when he came up in the ninth inning for the Mets. And anyone who can grind the bat with their bare hands would have to be pretty decent...

People, people, people. Just because they make a movie with baseball as part of the plot, does not automatically mean you have to watch it. Angels in the Outfield? Rookie of the Year? Little Big League?

Your stubborn, rebel without a cause attitude is causing you to miss some real cinema magic.

Why isn't Ben Williams (Matthew McConaughey)? Was anybody else not impressed with his ability to fly in "Angels in the Outfield?" Or what about Max "The Hammer" Dubois from Mr. Baseball. He can hit, and speak Japanese. What a player.

No Steve Nebraska (Brendan Fraser) from The Scout? He threw a perfect game in the World Series against the Cardinals for the Yankees. His line from that game...

9ip

27 K's

0 BB

0 hits

Pitch Count - 81 strikes 0 balls

He also hits 2 Homers in the game and the Yankees win 2-0. His fastball sits at around 106 (hard enough to knock the catcher and umpire over) and he can hit 600 foot homeruns.

He's that damn good.

You take it back, you take it back right now.
