He looks like Michele Wie. :-k

I heard he pitches a lot like Chan Ho Park and has a batting stance similar to Ichiro.

Which Chan Ho Park? Good version or really really really bad version?

Well, actually, upon further review - neither. He is actually more like random asian A.

Would it make you happier if he was compared in looks to Brittany Spears?

How adamant is he to not playing in the US like rotoworld states?

His father is Iranian and I suspect our current foreign policy in the Middle East makes him feel uncomfortable.

Joking?

I mean, his dad went to FSU and obviously spent a lot of time in America. I don't think he's afraid to come to the US or that strained US-Iranian relations would make him not want to play on the world's largest stage.

Andre Agassi and TJ Houshmandzadeh never seemed to have a problem with playing in the US despite its foreign policy. Granted both were born in the US, but I think there's something more to Yu's resistance.

Wild guess: you don't pay a lot of attention to the way the US is portrayed in international media.

should have gone with "my korean roommate" (Korean, right?)

Oh please Koske, put in a good word for the Cubs and Wrigley Field

Really doesn't matter as you have to bid for the rights to talk to him with his current team, not to mention all the bids are blind. That bid alone is going to be $60 Million+ and doesn't include his contract which will be huge.

I understand that but all Fukudome has to do is pick up the phone and give him a call. Players are always encouraging other players to join their team.

Yes, but again, it doesn't matter. Darvish wouldn't control the team that gets his rights, it's a blind auction.

If the Cubs manage to win the auction then yes. The only thing useful Fukudome do now is talk to potential owners about ponying up the $70 million posting fee to have the rights to negotiate a contract with him.

Actually we might be better off filling Cuban's blog with emails about this guy and how he is the next Dirk of baseball or something of that nature.

My guess is that if Cuban were to buy this team, he wouldn't need us to tell him about Darvish.

Given Dirk's performance in the playoffs the last couple of years, would that really be a good idea?

According to a recent ESPN Magazine interview with Mr. Darvish he loves the New England area.

If Darvish ends up posting this year the fee will easily surpass $75M. If they wait a few years and Darvish remains healthy that number could swell to $90M.

Yeah, that was a really stupid argument. There are many reasons why he wouldn't want to leave Japan right away -- friends, girls, star-power (which he already has). Saying due to the US government's foreign policy regarding a country in which his dad has probably spent less time in than he has in other countries was a shot in the dark.

His dad's a businessman who probably makes a lot of money in Japan, went to Florida State for college, and loves New England. Yu's gonna be over here soon, too.
