Wow. I thought he retired like 3 years ago.

He did. You're just imagining this is happening; go back to sleep.

Wake me up when we acquire Brian Roberts, ok?

I will say though, as bad as Luis will surely be, maybe he can be a good influence on the young team.

I'm not the biggest believer in players becoming better because of veterans, but I do think they can learn a lot about how to conduct themselves. Especially in a professional sport with 81 games on the road.

EDIT: Actually, upon further review, Luis really isn't THAT bad.

That's what makes Luis so brutal. He's terrible with young guys. He pissed and moaned as he left Arizona about the team turning to young guys, and he pissed and moaned even louder in LA DURING THE SEASON about the team melting down because a bunch of guys not ready for the show were up there. Of course those rookies were the ones hauling Luis's worthless ass to anywhere close to contention.

I was not aware. Must really suck for him then, that was probably the only decent offer he got.

But to be fair to Lugo, Jeff Kent was also a strong opponent of the young players. So it wasn't just Luis Gonzalez.
