The Kansas City Royals have reached preliminary agreement on a one-year, guaranteed $3 million contract with free-agent pitcher Brett Tomko, a baseball source said.

The deal, which includes an additional $1.5 million in incentives, is contingent on Tomko's passing a physical exam Monday.

I'd watch out for the Royals. I think this move puts them over the top.

I was about to suggest that we put this in the Rivalries forum. I think they've taken over as the team to beat in missouri.

I was at church with Dayton Moore today. It was part of a Super Sunday with him as a special guest. I never even knew that he was a member of my church because it's so big.

This makes me want to search him out next Sunday.

I for one, wish we'd play the Royals again. If it meant us not playing the White Sox one less time, would be fine with me.

--Who's Dayton Moore? I'm serious. I've never heard of him.

I assume the poster meant Drayton Moore the GM of the Royals, but forgot to put the r in the name.

Now I'm confused. It is Dayton, right?
