San Diego Chargers: Acquire pick No. 37 (selected S Eric Weddle).

Chicago Bears: Acquire picks No. 62, No. 93, No. 167 and a third-round pick in the 2008 draft.

This trade sucked because I wanted Eric Weddle. He'd look pretty good as a Bear right now.

Time to make a pick for Atlanta?

Well past that time now. Their biggest needs are probably offensive line and quarterback.

How about Joe Flacco? Or is this too early for him?

The reasoning behind Flacco to the Falcons would be that he might have the most raw talent of any of the QBs in the draft and would be able to play behind the Joey Harrington/DJ Shockly duo for a year to refine his skills.

Other QB possibilities would be Chad Henne or John David Booty.

Id pick flacco, he will sit behind redman and harrington

for atlanta, i'd go either CB Antoine Cason or OT Duane Brown. preferably the first guy.

Cason may actually be a better pick here. He's a first round talent and with the departure of DeAngelo Hall, Chris Houston is their only viable starting corner option (unless you count Lewis Sanders, which I don't).

Plus, with the depth at QB (Flacco, Henne, Ainge, Booty still available) they could take a QB with a later second rounder.

I'm now in the Cason camp with Truffle.

Raisin can I change that to Carl Nicks OL Nebraska?

Changed it, sorry about that.

Bump.

Didn't want this to stay off the front page in case bhogg doesn't check his PMs.

Wonder how the Chiefs' desire to trade Jared Allen will affect their draft picks? Likely not much for our purposes.

I told Raisen that I had backed out, but obviously there is a lack of Jet / Cub fan combos in the cyber world (whoda thunk it?).

So, if the Jets have Dmac, do they really need anyone else? I mean, he's the Bill Brasky of college football.

Anywho, the Jets need help on the defensive side of the ball.

The Jets select Tavares Gooden, LB, Miami

I'm sorry for taking so long.

No problem bhogg. If you still want (or need) to back out, I can handle the Jets. I'm not a fan, but I'm fairly familiar with them and their needs.

Interesting pick, by the way.

Gooden will back up Dmac at LB. You didn't know that Dmac went both ways?

Man, if you want to take the Jets, I don't mind. I have a million things going on right now and I wouldn't be doing anyone any justice with my lack of studying the draft stuff.

I won't take offense at all.

Don't want to pressure you into anything. If you want to keep going, that's fine with me but if you need to back out, I can handle things.

Just looking out for you man. :D

And the Jets may want to run a little of Arkansas' Mustang package now that DMac is in the fold...considering the QB situation is what it is.

I'll PM b_wiggy but he did miss his pick last time.

Good draft for the ATL. IMO, get the best defensive player, the best CB, and a potential franchise QB in their 1st 3 picks. Pretty realistic too, if you ask me.

Good pick by the Falcons.

I'm actually intrigued by DJ Shockley, though. It may just be my SEC bias, but I would give him the shot this season over Harrington or Redman - both of whom have proven they suck.

And they still have one more second rounder. I agree that the actual draft could turn out this way for the Falcons (though I doubt Cason drops to the second round).

I think it's time we start a discussion on the Ravens' pick.

I'm thinking Limas Sweed might be a good pick for them here.

They'll need someone to protect him, I was thinking Duane Brown OT.
