I personally love how Vista gives you at least 10 pop ups every time you use it to inform you that something that you personally double clicked on is trying to get access to your computer. Makes me feels so safe. The best part is how it freezes your computer for a good 5-10 seconds while it does that. That's how you know it's working.

You know you can turn the UAC off, right? If you take a while to go through and turn off some of Vista's annoyances, it's actually a nice OS (if your computer can handle it). I've been running it on my new system for a couple of weeks now and I actually really like it.

Probably not the appropriate place to put it but allow me my mini rant. I bought my girlfriend a new G3 iPod nano for Christmas, I mean Hannukah. She has a mac book that she got about 3 years ago. And guess what happens when she plug it in. It says her OS is too old and she needs to upgrade. WTF. Its not like her computer is archaic or anything. I know I know, its a smart business model to keep making people upgrade (as they have done with the iPods themselves), but it really pisses people off.

On a somewhat unrelated note, my iPhone doesn't show up on any other computer than the one I registered it with when I try to download stuff on itunes. For example, I have 2 computers, my old one had all my itunes stuff on it. I registered it with my new one and now I can't upload any of my music from my old computer. GAH!!!! Also, the ipot feature of the itunes craps out fairly often. It just stops playing. Safari does the same thing, but fairly infrequently. Also, the ipod replays the same song it just played after the song ends. Other than the ipod part, I love it, but the ipod part leaves a TON to be desired.

[/apple rant]

Just sounds like you don't know how to use the computer and iPod, thats your defect, not the items defect. I have never had a single one of the problems you have had, and neither has anyone else that I know that uses Macs. My sister and I have iPhones and they show up on every one of our computers. Also, in response to the bold part...learn to turn repeat off.....

What is there to do? You just plug it in.

Thanks on the repeat. I googled it and figured out how to turn that off. Kinda stupid that its not automatically on the screen. Ok, now what am I doing wrong with not being able to get it to interact with other computers.

Solution for everyone: Keep it simple and get XP / stay with it.

I'll gladly take your advice. 8-)

I would do the same thing, if i were still on windows.

I don't know what people are having problems with, with vista. I've had it for a few months now and I haven't had a single problem. It works just fine.

1. It's a resource hog

2. You have to buy new versions of programs like Word, most of which don't work nearly as well as the original.

My computer could handle it, but why switch when XP is better?
