Anytime you lose your Friday night starter right before the start of the season as the Illini did w/Roark, it is likely to fall short of expectations.

 

There are a couple of good hitters on that team.

BA has him at #18 on their top 50 draft prospects list which came out on April 18; it's always tough to tell with relievers because a few of them will go higher than they should due to being more major league-ready than starting pitchers.

yeah, I was going to comment on that 146 pitch effort until I looked down a bit. 18 Ks in 8.1 is pretty dang impressive too

How about LSU's run? 19 wins in a row to tie a school record and get them to the SEC tourney title game tomorrow.

Mizzou choked away their shot at a B12 tourney title. 2 outs away from clinching a spot in the title game, they blow the lead and the game against OU, then lose their third pool play game for good measure. Hopefully they still host a regional.

UCLA was on the outside of the bubble but has played themselves into a regional by sweeping WSU in LA, beating UCI in Irvine, and winning the first two so far against Cal in Berkeley. Woulda been nice to live up to the preseason top-5 expectations but I'm just happy to see them headed back to the tourney.

LSU is leading Ole Miss 8-2 in the 8th. This would be the Tigers' 20th straight win as they would win the SEC tourney heading into the regionals.
