reached my tolerance of "posts that are idiots".

Hmmm.

hes attacking the posts, not the posters

Calling posts idiots is not acceptable and hasn't been for a long time. It was cute once. It has since been abused repeatedly. Further use will result in warnings, bans, etc.

Buster Olney is saying the Padres are the frontrunners for Prior's service and he should make a decision within the next 48 hours.

Linkage

The Padres have offered a modest base salary plus a performance bonus package to Prior, according to sources, but other teams continue to talk with Prior, and other more aggressive offers could take shape. The former Cub pitcher lives in San Diego County, and in the end, he may opt to play for the team located closest to his home, in what figures to be a transitional year in his career.

Sort of what we figured. It will be interesting to see his home/road splits.

Wow, what a shocker.........

Well, not really.

Smart to go pitch in Petco for a year if you want a big contract in the year after that.

If Prior were to sign a 1 year deal with a team option for a second year would anyone here be upset?

No. Prior didn't want to be with the Cubs anymore. Whether he has legitimate reasons for wanting to leave is unknown, but it really doesn't matter. The Cubs only controlled Prior for 1 more year, and I'm sure Prior would have done his final year respectfully and in honor of his contract. The Cubs didn't want to do that, so it appears to be a mutual split.

Wrong. Games I went to Petco to see an MLB game last year= 0

I'm still a smoker, and Petco doesn't want smokers, so I happily oblige.

Thats what the Cubs would have liked too

how many parks still allow smokers? cant be many...?

I'm not talking about inside the stadium. Petco won't let me light up anywhere on the stadium grounds. I have to exit the stadium entirely to light up.

And I'm not going to do it.

Good riddens!

This is a perfect example of what really needs to stop around here. A guy makes an unpopular post on this site, and people are still piling on this person several days later.

Okay, he didn't spell "riddance" correctly. We get it. Please stop now. It's a personal attack on another poster and it is not welcome here.
