2. Beckett --> Sawx

1. ARod --> Texas

I guess Minnesota is like not on their radar and all, you know they traded AJP for Nathan and Liriano.

that is pathetic

This is more of a list of trades that were big deals at the time, rather than teams ripped off the worst. Otherwise, the list would be filled with trades like the Drese/Diaz for Hafner, Eaton/Otsuka for Young/Gonzalez, Hill/Bruback/Hernandez for Ramirez/Lofton deals. AJ Pierzynski, the biggest name involved in that trade, wasn't exactly a star at the time of the trade.

I would agree that they are more referring to how big the trade was at the time, not the trades that have made the biggest impact on baseball. That LoDuca trade was discussed a great deal over baseball over the last couple months of that baseball year. It is certainly worthy of being near the bottom of the list.

The Beckett deal is probably a bit too high IMO. Other then that, it doesn't look that bad, although I'm sure there was a trade or two that sent waves through the baseball community at the time it was made that I'm forgetting about that should be on the list.

Gotta have NYY and Boston 1 & 2, though.

God, that Nomar day was glorious. One of my top 3 or 4 days as a Cubs fan ever.

I guess that's sort of sad.

I couldnt sleep at all that night. And I woke up really early.

the colon deal was huge, and was a complete disaster for the expos/nationals.

travis hafner being stolen for nothing was pretty sweet. and san diego stole Chris Young, Adrian Gonzalez and Terrmel Sledge next to nothing (Adam Eaton and Akinori Otsuka).

By greatest trades they must mean most impactful for one team, as many of these were pretty one sided. In that case, Ramirez to the Cubs should get some consideration.

Itd also interesting that The "Lo Duca" trade isnt refered to as the Penny trade, as Penny ended up having much more impact on the Dodgers than LoDuca did for the Fish.

Lee for Choi?

If that's not one of the greatest trades ever, I don't know what is

That and the Ramirez trade may be the two best I have seen in my years as a Cubs fan.

Well, aside from the Sandberg trade.
