The Cincinnati Enquirer believes the Reds will make a run at Erik Bedard, perhaps using Homer Bailey and Joey Votto as bait.

Jay Bruce would be off the table, but Josh Hamilton and Edwin Encarnacion might not be. The Reds do have the talent to pull off a deal if they're willing to give up Bailey.

Oh God, please don't let Dusty get his hands on Erik Bedard. He's got what it takes to be a perennial all-star, but with a previous injury history, his arm will be cooked by the end of '08.

Orioles president Andy MacPhail said he still hasn't been blown away by any offers for Erik Bedard.

Geoff Baker of the Seattle Times writes that some of the people he's spoken to tonight have indicated that there are officials inside the O's front office who feel the Mariners are the best fit in a Bedard trade. Baker believes the Dodgers have offered Matt Kemp and Jonathan Broxton, but that it isn't quite enough for Baltimore. The Orioles will likely want Adam Jones, Brandon Morrow and more (Wladimir Balentien?) from the Mariners.

Well I guess this is credible since he didn't report that it was Eric Beldard and actually spelled Wladimir correctly...

He was the same guy who said a deal between the Cubs and Fukudome was close! :D

Bruce Levine was on the radio a few minutes ago and said the Cubs might look at going after Bedard and Roberts. He mentioned previous discussions Baltimore and the Cubs have had about Bedard. Doubt it will happen, but thought I'd pass it along.
