No names named, but it claims 11 current FAs are named in the report, with one being Jose Guillen.

Anyone want to play a game and guess the remaining 10?

Here is my guess:

Barry Bonds*

Mike Cameron*

Jose Guillen*

Luis Gonzalez

Alex Rodriguez

Sammy Sosa

Jerry Hairston Jr.*

Mike Piazza

Kenny Rogers

Octavio Dotel

Shawn Green

*= implicated at one time to either buying or using steroids.

Here is a list of FAs to choose from:

No need to guess with Jose Guillen, he's 1 of those 11.

What's the point of telling agents there are exactly 11 FA's in the report, but not naming names? If you're going to come out with them do it so GM's and agents know what there dealing with. The last thing we need is more speculation.

He's waiting until he can tell the Red sox who they are and then allow other teams to sign them before he releases the names.

i think you are a little light on the pitchers..i'm guessing it will 4-5

also i would look at jenkins as a possibility. just looking at size..injury..drop off

i also wonder if previously implicted plyers like bonds and guillen are counted in the 11...

it will be interesting to see if clemens and arod are named...if i had a bet on who did roids...they and nomar would be my top choices.

i wouldn't at all be surprised if Boston made a few head-scratching trades/FA signings, only to have it come out that the people they traded away are on Mitchell's list

Would Neifi also be one of the 11 or is he already considered busted?

In putting together my list I found a lot of pitchers that I wanted to put on.

I think most people would be surprised at how many did it. I would guess that 11 free agents is low. I am also guessing that there are many more that are not free agents.

I would be willing to guess that since they were not illegal and we are talking millions of dollars potentially, that easily 75% of th players at least tried them or growth hormone.

also you can not just look for huge size gains. many steroids do not give you super bulk, there are 1000's of choices. I would think that many pitchers would use an oil based type that keeps you leaner and more flexible. also they are not magic, the gains you get depend on your workouts. one of their attributes is that they allow you to workout harder, much more often(recovery time). Now HGH is a little more of a magic pill but you still must work.

the thing that I look for is constant injuries to muscle and tendons...especially rips from bone (nomar-griffey) spikes in performance(jobo-steve finley, palmeiro etc) and then huge fall offs later...giambi,nomar,jobo,prior?,..or very abnormal performance..clemens, bonds,sosa...(sorry throwing 150mph at 48 is not normal).add in that clemens actually was a tall skinny kid at texas, and is now a huge hulk of a man much like bonds-most people just think of bonds and his changes.

I also don't think most people realize how huge AROD is...he is a monster and he certainly is doing super human things. The only thing that gives me a doubt is that he has never really been hurt

I heard that this report was false -- they simply asked for 11 free agents to talk.

It wasn't that 11 current FAs are going to be named.

I fail to see how this report is in the best interest of baseball. All it does is continue speculation and finger-pointing.

And an honest question for those speculating about A-Rod: has there been any tell-tale signs or official rumors of personal enhancement during his career? I always thought A-Rod just had the natural talent to be a great player.

I am not aware of even the slightest indication that ARod has ever used PEDs.

And again -- ESPN was on this morning saying that this report is FALSE.

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3100824

The Boston Globe's Web site Thursday afternoon reported agents were told at the meeting that 11 current free-agent players are named in Mitchell's report, and the players have been notified by the commisioner's office.

Later Thursday, the Globe said on its Web site that it "turns out the agents might have misunderstood what was said at Wednesday's union meeting," and the reporter apologized.
