Never know though thats 2 outs no one on in a tied game anything could have happened.

2 outs, runner on 1B.

/nitpick

any runner still on first with that rainbow throw and the catcher dropping the ball should be shot.

Wowowowowowowowowowow.

This is going to be a huge issue tomorrow morning. Wow.

Does anyone else smell a bit of a suspension or something coming for McClelland(sp?)??

Or at least being unable to ump the rest of the playoffs??

Extremely hard to tell, maybe his hand got in as it was coming out from under Barrett's foot, but sure didn't look like it.

In the end, I think Colorado probly wins it, but still... WOW!!

Never know though thats 2 outs no one on in a tied game anything could have happened. But If Holliday doesnt win MVP that would be a true shame.

helton would have been on second.

Some interesting umpiring tonight. Hope it's not a sign of things to come in the rest of playoffs.

And think about this, there hasn't even been a Froemming sighting yet!!

I hate that people slide head first into home plate. So stupid. Edited by E.J.

Am I wrong or was that Giles throw a bit of a rainbow?

Big rainbow

Wonder if he took a little off to make sure it was accurate. Wasn't a bad throw or anything, just wasn't exactly what I expected to see there.

Good call.

It was a rainbow because he didn't take the time to set himself after catching that liner.

The difference is that JJ sets his feet, get a nice running start upon catching the ball, and then comes up with a crappy throw. Giles did none of those things because of the flight path of the ball.

He must have really been rattled up on the slide...he didn't even move towards the plate to make sure he got it.

What happened to his head? His hand looked like it got mashed but I couldn't see what his face.

The only way I can see Holliday being safe is if his left hand managed to get under Barrett's foot on the side. There's a point where Barrett lifts his foot up a bit over home plate (I think) and then brings it back down. It's hard to tell if Holliday's hand was blocked by it or got under it.

It's a stretch, though.

I think Barrett did it perfectly. caught the hand with his foot (as you can see in the third base shot), and brushed it around the place (as you can see in the behind the plate shot).

edit - actually, vice versa the shots.

He did a face plant and his helmet went into his face. He was bleeding.

Never mind looks like he mashed his face all over the ground.

They only have 2 angles of the slide...the one from the backstop shows that Holliday's hand slams into Barrett's foot and Barrett's foot backs up over the plate, but Holliday's hand is obscurred. If his hand is pushing Barrett's foot back like it looks like, it very likely touches the plate.

Both angles suck.

Nice little rug burn there. But I don't think he cares right now.

That throw was a rainbow. I thought there would be no play. But Barrett is just not good at blocking and catching balls.

Hoffman has Mariano Rivera'd the last two days.

Thank you Barrett!

Things are going perfect... Almost too perfect...

like I said above, the third base shot shows Barrett's foot pushing to the side of home plate and never comes off the ground.
