Thursday game looks like they would probably put CHI/AZ in at the 9:30 central, that would be 7:30 here.

right... which sucks cause that's 10:30 here in NY

Suck it up and enjoy it :D

Thurs, October 4th - 2:30 PM, 6:30 PM, 9:30 PM

Here is TBS schedule... I assume nothing is set in stone yet because some of the start times seem weird

If we play during the bolded time, someone will lose their life. I have class at that time that I really shouldn't be missing.

Luckily for us, its starting to look like we're going to be playing Arizona in the first round. And that would mean a 10:30am start time in arizona if we fell into that time slot...I doubt even MLB would be dumb enough to do that.

Then again, it's the MLB. Don't use reason and logic with them.

My guess is that the first two days will go like this:

Weds, October 3rd:

12:30 Rockies/Padres @ Phillies

4:00 Red Sox @ Angels

7:30 Cubs @ D'Backs

Thurs, October 4th:

2:30 Rockies/Padres @ Phillies

6:30 Yankees @ Indians

9:30 Cubs @ D'Backs

That's the most ratings friendly schedule given where the series are being played.

Whats going to stink is when the games overlap into each other. I dont want to get stuck watching an AL game while the Cubs are playing thier game just because its not over yet.

(maybe switch the BOS/LAA and CHC/ARI games around on Wednesday, but otherwise, looks about perfect from this angle)

Assuming those posted times are correct, I'm guessing we'll get the 4:00 start on Wednesday, 9:30 on Thursday, 8:00 on Saturday and 2:30 on Sunday. Just as long as we aren't playing the early games on Wednesday or Thursday I'll be happy.

Stretching it out, the Cubs/Dbacks [and COL or SD/PHI] will play both games 3 & 4 on Saturday and Sunday (or at least currently scheduled that way).

Game times for those days are all listed above, but TNT has the other game on Sunday, and that game's start time could be anywhere between 12 and 7p.

Considering that our Game 3 will be in the CST and the other NLDS Game 3 will either be in the MST or PST, I'll bet we are the 4:30p game on Saturday, and one of the earlier start times on Sunday.

Exactly what I was thinking... although will MLB be hesitant to put the Rockies/Padres in the 1st game considering they have to play tomorrow?

I see your reason for hesitation, but would you punish either of BOS/LAA or CHC/ARI by having them start at 10:30a locally?? Its a bind, but the only thing makes sense is to make the SD (or COL)/PHI series kick it off; it'd be 1:30p local time in Philly.

I doubt it. They've got a full day off in between.

Interesting note...If the Cubs play on Sunday...The Chicago Marathon is being run that same day. The route of the Marathon takes you just east of the park. It will be a real mess in the neighborhood if it is an early game. Edited by kaseyi

Just route them around, what's a couple extra miles?

Exactly. They shut down the streets the marathon is run on. It's basically impossible to have the Cubs game during the afternoon on Sunday. It has to be a night game.

I'm not sure about that... I think the Cubs & Red Sox are pretty much a wash, but the Angels will draw more viewers than the Dbacks. It could go either way though.

In 2003, the networks went out of their way to get every Cubs game in primetime, even moving the Yankees to a day game. There's a reason for that. The Cubs are a HUGE draw in the playoffs

Hard to forget, all I remember about it is how "The Boss" pissed and moaned because the Cubs were stealing HIS playoff time slots.
