21-17 Illinois at half. Northwestern leads Michigan 16-7 at the half as well. SIU destroying Indiana State 55-10 with 1:30 left in the 2nd quarter. The Gateway Conference scoring record is at 70 and we have 55 in the 1st half

And on to some negative news, NIU is down 35-10 at the half.

For ND fans,

How's Golden Tate doing this year? Earlier in the second quarter was the first time I've heard his name this season and was curious how the ol Tennessee boy was doing.

The alum just brought Charlie to Candy Mountain at half time.

Ouch. You ought to lay off ND for a while. I feel sorry for them.

I haven't really had a chance to watch them play so that's why I'm making the comments that I am. I can't feel sorry for any college team that gets the pub they do. I respect their program but after losing the Heismon to Brown on a team that didn't pass and he just returned kicks for an 8-3 team, no, I don't feel sorry for them and I won't even go to the Paul Horning thing vs Jim Brown.

I can understand that. I do feel bad for the fans, though. It was just a couple years ago that Tennessee languished in a 5-6 season where our offense was awful (still not quite this bad though).

Interestingly, that season had a Clausen at the helm for much of the year too. Jimmy's older brother Rick.

I remember that. I think a team learns a lot about itself having a season like they are. You've got, much like your UT teams, many 5 star kids who are used to dominating and now they're getting their butts kicked. You now get to see who really is football tough and who withers away.

Exactly. That's what I (unlike many Tennessee fans) really respect about Fulmer, Cutcliffe and John Chavis (D coordinator) is that after that 5-6 year, changes were made and we had a significantly better season. If Arian Foster doesn't fumble deep in Penn State territory in the bowl game, we likely win 10 games in 06. That's a huge turnaround.

Next year, I think, will prove the true mettle of Charlie Weis.

watching ND get spanked is a great joy. Having to listen to them get so much air time on tv as an 0-4 team is getting annoying, with so many other better stories in college football. They should have never been in a BCS game the past couple of seasons.

The announcers just stated that the receivers were just standing around while Clouson was running looking for someone to throw too. Things like that bother me, you should always hustle and try to get open. God, I wish there was another game on.

It's a good thing IU can't stand a 21-0 lead. We are just giving it away.

I hate being an IU football fan. Why can't we have just one year where things turn around??? JUST ONE STINKING YEAR!!! :x

i'm going to miss the 2nd half of this game due to my job (stupid money). I was hoping the game would be in hand by now. oops

You really thought that? Illinois is a solid team with some nice young talent.

Problem is, that nice young talent is coached by a mediocre to bad head coach (Zook).

I'm not surprised they're winning, but I can see why people would doubt them.

It really amazes me that Zook has this label of mediocre to bad coach, when hes been a head coach now for how long? Florida was his 1st head coaching job, and I think its pretty reasonable to expect that he might mess up a little in his 1st job as a head coach. I just think its a little early in his career to say hes a terrible head coach. Hes starting to get talent at U of I now, and it will be interesting to see if hes made a progression as a head coach. With that being said...

ILL

He was a Florida for 3 years, I believe and now at Illinois for 2 (maybe 3).

I agree that he may improve as a head coach, but there were a lot of questions surrounding his hire at Florida (people asked when he got the job if he was any good) and he was far less than impressive despite pulling in awesome recruits there. Last year's national championship for Florida was basically done with Zook players.

Also, I never said he was terrible. Just mediocre to bad. Probably closer to mediocre.

21-13 IU with 2 minutes left in the 3rd.

And IU just scored a TD.27-13 pending the PAT.

Thanks. Indiana doesn't play OSU or Michigan this year, man that bugs me about the Big 10.

The only time it really bothers me is when a team has a chance to win the Big 10 without playing one or both of them.

That's the beauty of having a championship game, you're almost definitely going to have to play at least one of the other best teams in your conference to win it. I realize the Big 10 can't do that until they add a team though.

But if a 7-5/8-4 team beats a 12-0 in the Champ game it is worse imo.

UConn 37-10 over Akron with 12 minutes left.

who the hell cares? seriously, what makes you think anyone gives a damn about that game?

Jeeze. Calm down. CT is from the area and I thought he might want to know.

Holy crap, take a deep breath.

They're countless schools that people mention in these threads that no one else really cares about.
