Did you miss the part where the coach implies that its because of the outfield at Wrigley? Like Griffey doesnt get hurt everywhere he stinking plays.

Isn't this the second time Griffey's season has ended at Wrigley?

(edit - NOT disagreeing with you. At all.)

Here's another article about it.

Griffey said he didn't remember anything after the initial shock of pain. He said he knew he threw it, but not sure where.

"The best way I can describe it is it felt like somebody bungee jumped off my right nut," Griffey said.

Now there's a quote that's truly sig-worthy.

I have to admit, Mr. Griffey has a way with words there.

I do feel his pain when he said what it felt like.

No kidding. I still love the guy, even if he has one nut left.

Me too. I think he's the best all around player along with ARod at SS, that I've ever seen since the 80's, maybe ever (since I've been watching baseball).

We'll see if it really makes a difference. I seem to recall a couple other cases where players didn't make the difference we thought they might.

....like for example in 2004 when we finally had everyone back healthy for the stretch run in September, so no question we would make the playoffs right??

Heh.

I'm thinking about the horror if we would have acquired Griff at the deadline only to watch him get injured with 9 games left.

I still wanted him though.

Yeah, that would stink. I wanted the Man too and I wonder if the OF is as bad as Dunn said. I don't remember any Cub OF's complaining about it.

I have heard either Pat or Len say that the Cubs are way overdue for a complete resurfacing of the field, however.

Really? Then they better do it this off season then. I hope this ownership thing doesn't stop them from doing it.

People have mentioned in another thread that the field renovation might be put on hold this offseason because of the team being bought. Hopefully it still goes through as planned.

I do too. If they don't touch the field but yet add some seats somewhere I'll be peeved.
