Thank you reds for only giving this kind of effort against us. If they gave this kind of effort all year maybe they would actually be in a race once in a while.

Yep, the Reds only try against the Cubs. Also, the Astros try to lose against Milwaukee.

The blame should be on the Cubs if they can't beat the Reds in a pennant race in September.

Nobody is going to just let them win.

Right, you don't think the Reds have the type of team to be in a pennant race in this division? I do. I think they underacheive year after year. I also don't think the Astros are trying to lose to the Brewers, I just don't think they care if they win. They are sitting their second best hitter after making a point of saying how they wouldn't do that against the cubs because they didn't want to impact the pennant race.

Yeah, this talk that the Reds are just starting to try against us and that the Cardinals and Astros are going to tank on purpose is a bit silly.

Walking Aaron Harang would also be silly.

Just watched the 1st 3 innings.

I'm not sure we can definitely say that Zambrano is bad because he's on short rest. That's going to be the easy explanation, sure.

At the same time, this is the 5th time he's faced the Reds. He's given up 5, 6, 0, and 6 runs in the previous 4 games. So he's been terrible against the Reds 3 out of 4 games this season on regular rest. So if we put the blame on this outing as short rest, then what explains the other outings?

The better argument is that the Reds have simply owned Zambrano. They have lots of left handed hitters that have hit Z hard. That's true no matter what kind of rest Z gets. You add in an infield hit, a couple bloops, and a runner on the move at the right time to avoid a double play to the hard hit balls, and suddenly you have a bad outing.

Unbelievable. The only way the Cubs win is with pure luck.

Yeah, you proved us wrong, Brewers fans, we are so butt lucky.

Sorry, I just looked at what I posted. That's not what I meant to say. I meant to say the only way the Cubs beat the Reds is pure luck

It seems that way, but when I looked up Z's 3-year splits, he has an ERA of 3.60 against the Reds during that time. I was kind of shocked, since Cincy seems to really kill him.

If Z can buckle down from here on out, surely the Cubs can scrape across 3 runs? right?

lets start with a hit

But also look at Omar's stats. They truly have roughed him up overall. Maybe this year has inflated those numbers, but that just means they figured him out this year and have been working towards that for a couple of years.
