Id rather have injured Sheets than Zambrano.

the last time sheets went 8 innings was June (and he hasn't gone 7 since then, either). he gave up 4 runs that time.

Is it just out of your possibillity to maybe give either Hopper or Keppiger some credit?

 

I'd love to have them in the CUbs lineup now they way they have been playing.

No, but I happen to somewhat know Norris Hopper pretty well and he deserves the chance he is getting right now. It sucks that he's doing it against the Cubs but I'm happy for him nontheless.

 

Same goes for Keppinger, who I told you yesterday is a good player, and better away from GABP.

I don't care if you know him. He is a bum who is playing way over his head and is probably going to help cost us making the playoffs.

funny Z was given an 'extra day' last time out, and is now working on short rest. had Piniella just left the rotation alone, Z would now be on normal rest. Z looks like crap...

It comes down to whether or not you want Lilly/Z to make the majority of the starts the rest of the way or Marquis/Trachsel/Marshall combo.

 

What it comes downs to is our starting rotation has been good to great all year, and for some reason Lou decided to completely overmanage this last month by not sticking with what got us here.

I don't really blame him for this outing. Going on 3-days rest is usually a bad thing, no matter who the pitcher is. History has shown this. It was a stupid move by Lou for doing it. I'm guessing Lilly will be just as bad tomorrow.
