Please don't suck, Marquis. And please don't suck against Mulder, Cubs.

As lopsided as those stats look, I'm sure Marquis will get pasted and Mulder will give up one run through 7.

Wow, our heart of the lineup should clobber Mulder. Is Lee really hitting .733 against him? Mother of God.

Give me...

1. Alfonso Soriano (LF)

2. Ryan Theriot (SS)

3. Derrek Lee (1B)

4. Aramis Ramirez (3B)

5. Craig Monroe (CF)

6. Matt Murton (RF)

7. Mark DeRosa (2B)

8. Geovany Soto ©

Yep. I couldn't believe it either. I double checked to see if it wasn't his OPS against him or something... Only 1 the hits is an XBH... a HR. The rest are singles.

Is Murton still on the team?

Might be nice to see him in RF for this game.

Who?

I really think the Cubs will allow Mulder to have a good game.

Just gotta tip your cap. At least we got a split.

Throw out the standings when these two teams meet. They're a tough team and we were lucky to take 2 out of the 4 in their home stadium.

Uhh... Did you look at all the match-ups? As much as I dislike him, Jones belongs in CF. Expect a Soriano/Jones/Murton OF.

I'd love to win this game, but I wouldn't commit suicide if we spilt the series.

It wouldn't kill us losing to the Cardinals, but the Brewers have a damn good shot of winning today. I'd love to hold that lead for today until the Brewers are back on the road and the Cubs are back home tomorrow.

For me, a split kind of kills all the momentum we had built up by taking 2 of 3 in Houston, and by taking the 1st 2 of this series. I expected a split yesterday, but there is no excuse for letting Mark Mulder beat us, hes horrible right now.

No doubt. I feel pretty confident we'll win today. Man, I'm worried about the Cincy series...

Dear Lou,

Please dont play Kendall.

Thanks

Soto will probably get the start.

If Lou wants to do whats best for this team(which Im pretty sure he does) then that will be the case for the majority of the rest of the season. Kendalls D is just downright freaking horrible, and his bat isnt enough to make up for it. Soto offensively can either match(but more than likely be better) than Kendall, and his D is head and shoulders above Kendalls.

Jones is batting .381 and OPSing over a thousand in 21 AB against Moulder. He'll be sitting.

Marquis is definitely a guy I like to see on the mound, and I have a suspicion he'll be bringing his best against the team that left him off the playoff roster last season. Cy Moulder has an MVP performance, but Marquis out-duels him.

Cobs win, 2-1.
