you don't often see a line of 2.2 IP, 0ER, no injury from a starter

2 of the runs were earned.

Marshall gave up 6 hits and 2 walks in 2 2/3 innings tonight. While Kendall's mistake definitely hurt Marshall this inning, Marshall was absolutely terrible.

This is 800% Lou's fault for screwing with Marshall's rhythm and putting him in the bullpen.

This is Marshall's fault, Lou's not pitching or showing he can't pitch in big games. Marshall couldn't let the error roll off his back.

It's only the third inning guys. We will come back.

Not the point. The point is we've already had 2 guys thrown out at home, squandered a bases loaded 1 out situation with 0 runs to show for it, squandered a runner on second 0 out situation with 0 runs, completely botched a dropped third strike play with a lacksadasical throw to first. If we play this game soundly, we are up 5-0

Lots of Steve Trachsel awaits the Cubs after today's performance.

I doubt it-the Cubs seem set on going with a 4 man rotation most of the rest of the way. Trachsel or Marshall were only going to get a maximum of 1 start the rest of the way anyway.

Marshall can't control if he starts or when he starts.

Pitching has a lot to do with rhythm and confidence.

You're both wrong - Hendry's fault for getting Trachsel

I really love Chicago Cubs catcher Jason Kendall right now.

what did kendall do??

swinging strike in the dirt, weiner throw IN THE DIRT to first, DLEE can't scoop it, but swipes it out of the air, but ump rules it pulled him off the bag. Runner safe. Marshall implodes, hatred for Kendall ensues.

fixed.

Ah, I knew blaming Lou would be the popular thing on here. Let's ignore the fact that the pitcher threw 800 pitches in not even 3 innings and failed to put away one of the worst lineups in the league. Yeah, all on Lou.
