Going to Busch Stadium to catch the final game of the series this weekend. Any idea what the pitching match-up will be? Also, for those who have been to the new Busch stadium, anything particular about the intricacies of new Busch that would be good to know or check out while I'm there.

I'll be sitting with my son in the first row behind the Cubs bullpen. Are those seats a pretty good vantage point for the game?

Those will be very nice seats for taking your son...nothing too exciting about the new ballpark...its nice to look at from the outside but nothing special or particularly interesting inside...

I've be there as well. Pretty sure it's Mulder vs Marquis. My first time there too, so I can't really give you much info as far as the rest of that goes.

It's a bland, neo-cookie cutter.

I agree. They had to cut costs and it shows on the inside. The new Busch cost like $350 million and most of that came from the Cardinal ownership. New stadiums like Minnesota, DC, and both NY teams are costing $600 million or more because they're getting tons of public money.

The main difference at the new Busch is there's a ton of small to medium sized bathrooms spread out all over the place. It's amazing that one mens bathroom will have a line while another right across from it will have nobody waiting.

And you can't see the field at all from the concourses....they are just dark concrete tunnels...with nothing really in them...they could have done a much better job outfitting those areas....

It's going to be a busy weekend in St. Louis.

-Saturday will be the split game double header.

-They're also having the Hot Air Balloon race late Saturday afternoon. That means a couple hundred thousand people trying to get to the area around Forest Park.

-The Rams play the 49ers at the Dome at noon on Sunday.

-Cards/Cubs at 1:20pm.

-The Tour de Missouri bike race will be going through the city. Certain streets will be closed off: make sure to watch signs when parking.

-Beer tasting festival at the Schaughly microbrewery in the western part of downtown on Saturday afternoon.

-Grovefest Saturday and Sunday in "the Grove" neighborhood. Forget using Manchester Road as an east/west street to downtown.

We couldn't find a decent hotel rate and are crashing at a friend's place. Anyone score an open hotel room that didn't cost an arm & leg?

Wow, that's kind of lame. Makes me appreciate Coors.

You might try Collinsville. It's about 10 miles East of downtown but is safe and clean area with 5-6 hotels all together along with a few restaurants just off I-55. Usually a few with reasonable pricing over there.

I shouldn't give away my secret, because it's nice having a garage to myself, but there is a $3 garage at 7th & Pine, just west of 7th on Pine. It's only like 5 blocks from the stadium, and is pretty easy to get out of.

Nobody parks there though. They all go to the $5 Famous Barr garage across the street, it seems.

Great game last night, save for bringing in Dempster. He needs the Eyre treatment.

Anyway, I'm sitting in the outfield box area by the RF foul pole last night, and I get a tap on the shoulder. I turn around, and it's Ronnie Woo Woo! WTF? I don't know him or anything, he was just going around shaking hands of all the folks in blue.

Friend got a pic. Don't have it yet. Didn't know he was doing road trips now...

I think Demp is ok...just only use in SAVE situations...once it got to be 4 runs, it should have been Howry or Marmol....I think Demp was grooving them just trying to make them hit the ball...and they did...a long way....

the bottom of the ninth after Taguchi got on...my stomach was not good....too damn many happy cardinal fans around....

thank god he ended it...
