Hindsight being 20/20 and all. I've listed the three most popular choices, but I know a few people were clamoring for Dierker and a couple others.

How 'Bout; "Anyone other than Piniellla."

i don't think you know what you're saying. the # of managers out there worse than Piniella is staggering

Girardi is an idiot and I'm not fan of Lou. I liked Gonzalez in the off-season, and haven't heard any complaints about him like I do with seemingly every other manager in baseball.

Fredi.

Gonzalez gets an incomplete for this season. His team has gone way under expectations, but his pitching staff was decimated as well which means that he hasn't really heard the criticism yet.

his expectations were high because of the marlins pitchers being fluky good last year and then predictably coming back to earth/getting injured this year. i can't blame fredi gonzalez for the pitching woes when joe girardi may be partially at fault for the injury issues this year. Especially with Anibal Sanchez who pitched like 80 innings more than his previous professional high.

I think the right choice was made. No manager is perfect, but Lou is not costing us games, and that's really what we need.

I went with Sweet Lou.

While he's made some iffy decisions at points this year, I like a lot of his apparent philosophies and don't feel that he's doing anything to cost games.

I thought long and hard about Fredi Gonzalez (my offseason favorite), but just haven't seen enough to be convinced yet.

i doubt it makes all that much difference. i'd choose fredi gonzalez though, because he's the cheapest and leaves more payroll money where it's important, on the players.
