so far, nothing has surprised me in this inning.

Really, not even a Cliff Floyd triple?

EDIT: Oops, realize I got beat to it by Raisin.

Unbelievable. Cliff risked life and limb and ran his butt off for nothing.

you were saying?

Oh wait, baseball allows 3 outs per inning? Crap :)

Pitching to Theriot was curious, no matter how much he's been sucking.

We have no average hitting pitchers, kinda odd. Zambrano and Marquis are probably 2 of the 10 best hitting pitchers in baseball. Hill and Lilly might be 2 of the 10 worst. Marshall was just as bad.

Marshall and Hill are just brutal.

how can rich hill suck at the plate SO MUCH? aren't pitchers usually the best hitters in high school?

have you seen hill run/field? it's pretty obvious that he's a lousy athlete.

it's why I hate the DH in minor league ball. I realize that it helps you develop more hitters, but it atrophies your pitchers hitting ability really badly

Yes, espec. being from the NE. Of course, he faced pitchers topping out at 80 and he hit with the ping.

I love it, pitchers in A ball and lower don't need to waste their time learning how to bunt and whatnot.

Cliff Floyd tripling isn't a surprise for you?

not in that park. cliff isn't a turtle. i could triple by sitting on my bare behind and farting to propel me, especially with that center valley of an outfield.[/i]

Oh Bob. U so funnay!

That said, I want Steve Stone back. He got a call on Boers and Berns asking him if he would come back, and he said something along the lines of "The door is open."

yeah, but if really good-hitting pitchers from high school and college kept hitting all the way through the system, then their spot in the lineup in the majors wouldn't be an automatic out

Eventually, someone is going to hire Brenly to be a manager and Stone will naturally return to the booth...unless he gets a GM gig somewhere.

Indeed, but I think they should spend as much of their development time pitching.
