Sadly, our runs in the 1st were based more on the Diamondbacks goofing up defensively as opposed to the Cubs hitting.

 

That's a good point. Besides the Floyd HR, they had one single.

 

Lee? What the heck? Instead of hitting regular HR's, he's doing the inside-the-park variety now?

This is an absolute must-win game, considering that the Cards aren't apparently going to lose anytime soon, and the odds are very good for a Brewers win today. You don't want to go into the Brewers series with only a 0.5 game lead.

 

There's no way the Cubs should be losing two of three from the D-Bags.

 

Its picture perfect replication of the last series. We kill them in the first game, and then can't muster enough offense in the next 2.

I wonder how many of the kids in the LLWS today know that they should be taking the first pitch from guys with a near-6.00 ERA!!! My guess is all of them!!!

Well, I think you should be jogging over regardless as soon as the ball is struck because, as was just proven, you never know.

The ball was to Right-Center so the Left Fielder was most likely assuming the ball wasn't going to him. I don't think he needed to be running over there on the play, I'm sure he is wishing he was though.

The thing is that we really didn't kill them in the first game. They should have won by about ten runs. In fact, Dempster still had to come in the ninth after Worst brought in his gas can and threw a few lit matches around the diamond.
