....is that they're doing all this without really any big contributions from Soriano, DLee, and Aram. I think we're due for a big stretch run with those 3.

I'd say the 2 run double by Ramirez was a pretty big contribution.

Yes, but I'm curious to see their numbers over the past 7 games. I don't think they've really been playing at the level they usually do.

I think we should be thanking the pitching. 11 hits in 2 days is usually not what you'd hope for. The starters have combined for what 15IP 3ER in the first 2 games?

Or thank the Giants terrible offense.

We've done what we're supposed to do the past week or so; take 2 of 3 from bad teams, even if our own performance could be categorized as lackluster or less than ideal. First St. Louis, now San Francisco, and we still have Z for a chance at a sweep of the hapless Giants.

I agree that A-Ram has to start hitting some HRs eventually, and that Soriano being ahead of schedule can only help our long-term outlook. One thing I fear is that with Floyd back, our power production will absorb a minor hit as Murton is more of a HR threat at this point and should be starting most days anyway.

Rich Hill has been really good.

He didn't get the win last night, but just amazing he's having another good stretch run. He was good in the 2nd half last year too IIRC.

Marquis with a really big performance against Lincy, keeping it alive so we could win it in the end. Many would have looked at that pitching matchup and given us very little chance.

The offense has been sputtering, so these pitching performances from the middle and back of the rotation are huge, IMHO. But late-inning run scoring, like what we saw a couple nights ago, is a most welcome sight.

while i feel good that the team hasn't rolled over and given up late in games, i'm discouraged by the offense's inability to grab leads early.

Oh well, they've won 5 of 6. Let's keep it rolling!

Rich has Kerry Wood disease. The Cubs don't score any runs when he pitches.

Today is a big game...we need to Sweep. 2 of 3 is always nice, but sweeps this time of year make a huge difference.

especially in this division. Someone was making that point earlier . . . maybe Len . . . that taking 2/3 or 3/4 in most sets the rest of the year probably wins the division. So a sweep, whenever, it can be had, would be huge.
