College Football - Week of 9/1

I've never been more embarrassed to be an Aggie in my life. That was an absolutely pathetic display of football.

 

First game in the new stadium against a Division II team and we lose. Horrible. Complete and total garbage.

 

The defense as a whole was abysmal. Our defensive backs couldn't cover a quadriplegic today. Our defensive line rarely got to the quarterback and he threw for 362 yardss. Western Washington was 12-21 on third-down conversions with 8 of those being for TEN YARDS OR MORE. I hesitate to criticize the running back because he ran for 189 yards on 19 carries though one of those was a 90 yard TD run. He did have two fumbles both of which WWU recovered.

 

There was also some questionable play calling in the fourth quarter. UCD was down 7 and had first and goal from the four with between 4 and 5 minutes left. Rather than mixing in a playaction or some sort of pass, he runs three times (3 yd gain, 1 yd loss, 3 yd loss) before finally passing on fourth and goal from the 5. Horrible.

 

I am so pissed right now.

 

How was the stadium? I can now confirm they have 1554 at the nugget - well they did until I bought all they had in stock. Sounds like you could use one.

 

The stadium was very nice. It was near capacity for the first half but, unsurprisingly, a bunch of people left at halftime because of how hot it was.

 

And yeah, I really could use a beer right now. Maybe I'll have one before heading to work.

prolly cus even without their starting QB and with 5 turnovers illinois still was in the game and was about even yardage wise

It's been a while since I went from cloud nine (Michigan losing to App St) to hell (the rest of the day in ND Stadium) so quickly in college football.

 

Honestly, the 1st sure win I see on ND's schedule is Duke on November 17th.

 

Jimmy better as hell be starting next week. DJ apparently can't pass and Sharpley has no concept of how to evade the pass rush. I mean, Evan really looked like ass. Jimmy at least looked like he had a future out there.

I think Georgia Tech deserves some credit. I really think they are going to be a surprise team this year. I was really impressed by their defense and Offensive line. Man they would easily be a Top Ten team if Calvin Johnson had come back

Oh, all the credit in the world. They made us look flat-out stupid out there. If they play even remotely that well the rest of the year they'll sleepwalk to the ACC title.
