Don't worry guys. I'm not at this game. We'll win.

Yeah. We might have to revoke your title if you keep this up, bud.

Trust me. No one has been more pissed at the Cubs' effort (or lack of it) when I've attended games this year than I have.

As I have said all along, this is why Theriot should be leading off and Soriano should get off his prima donna attitude and bat 5th.

Bad pickoff throws?

Leadoff single?

I prefer leadoff homers.

I prefer 6/14 in leadoff spot.

I prefer .500 OBP over .336 OBP in the leadoff spot.

I prefer someone who can take walks over someone who strikes out 3x more.

I prefer people who know what they're talking about over people who don't.

Ever heard of a sample size?

Yeah I would much rather have had Jason Kendall than Sosa in the early 00's you know cause Kendall never K'd

Eat a bag.

Ever heard of learn baseball?

18 HR good for him.

Theriot: 353 AB - 34 SO - 36 BB - .352 OBP

Soriano: 444 AB - 95 SO 0 24 BB - .336 OBP

Now who should eat a bag?

Soriano should bat 5th, learn baseball, take notes from your terrible t-ball team then come back to post.

The fact is we paid him all that money to leadoff. He is going to leadoff. Soriano in two years will still be hitting leadoff. Theriot might, might still be in baseball. Might.

Actually, the Cubs paid Soriano all that money to be a productive hitter, regardless of where he hits. Based on the type of hitter he is, he is best suited to be a #5 type hitter, whereas Theriot's skillset (solid OBP and not much power) make more sense in the leadoff spot.

Question: would you rather have a solo homer or a 2 or 3 run homer? Now, where should Soriano and Theriot hit?

I know, but this is the Cubs. We don't deal in ideal. We paid him that money and promised him he would hit leadoff. In a perfect world Nomar would still be our SS, but we are the cubs, so that didn't happen. We have bigger problems on this team that should be addressed before we worry about Soriano leading off.

Yea Illini... but he is a professional and it is CLEAR Theriot knows how to get on base and rarely strikes out... he at least takes pitches. Soriano swings at balls in the dirt. He NEEDS to hit 5th.

Yeah he should, but for some reason he is way more valuable as a hitter when he leads off. His career numbers show this. I don't know why, but they do.

And I was just noticing before the game how good his K/BB ratio has been this year. Ugh.

This could be rough for him. The curve doesn't work as well in the high altitude.

Yea I am not refuting that at all... but the fact is he's getting paid 136mil, there really is no reason why his numbers should be better. It's his attitude, he thinks he should leadoff so when he doesn't he stinks. But that's not good for the team so he needs to get over it.

That's the rub.. I think most of us think Sori is best suited lower in the order, but his career numbers defy that logic... FWIW, I think Lou should put in the 5 hole until Sori finally just accpets it....kinda like when Frank Robinson made him play LF...

Get some voodoo mindmeld or something to make him see things differently. It's painful to see your top HR hitter never having a chance to drive in additional runs.

The best bet might be to get a legit name leadoff hitter. If we had a guy like Jose Reyes, a name it might be easier for him to handle. I doubt he would like to move for Ryan Theriot. Right or Wrong.
