The lineup is RLRLRLRL (it was the best I could do)

yeah Lou really needs to get off the whole "loading the lineup with righties against LHP." UK (PingHitter) made this point and the Astros' announcers also talked about it yesterday - the opposing pitcher keeps facing guys from the same side of the plate, so he can really get in a rhythm and keep attacking those batters the same way. I'm not saying the Cubs should play Jones - he's just awful against LHP - but Fontenot and Floyd do not have extreme L/R splits. I'd like to see one of them (preferably Fontenot since I'm pretty sick of Floyd's anemic bat) in the lineup against lefties.

Nah. There were half a dozen combinations in '05 that were worse.

 

e.g., Hollandsworth/Hairston/Burnitz

Those were the days.

Ramirez seemed to me to be favoring his right hand last night in a couple at bats... I wonder if this had anything to do with him sitting tonight.
