Don't crucify me, because I haven't been following too closely, but why do the Cubs not use Floyd more? It surprises me that he's only had 209 PA.

he's been playing a lot recently, and not very well.

Well he breaks easy. He also hasn't had an extra base hit in over a decade.

Because there's a good chance on every stride he takes that one of his legs will just completely fall off.

Mostly because he always has nagging injuries and even when he's healthy all he's good for are singles. He's hitting for no power what-so-ever.

Yep, and while not hitting for any discernible power, he also ups the ante by playing suspect defense...

That's the thing though. He's a lefty and you have to think other teams are stacking the lineup with rightys who are more likely to yank it into the Crawford Boxes.

Lefties (Park Factor 138) hit more HR there than RHB (PF 110).

The whole can't add payroll argument is an empty one, to the billionaire(s) who are going to purchase the Cubs, a few extra million is a drop in the buckett.

I haven't been following the game closely until now, but everytime I walked past the tv the past couple hours it seems I have seen Wandy getting an inside cutter or low curve being called a strike, or Rich Hill not getting the same exact pitches called the same way.

has this been an illusion, or do we have to beat two teams yet again tonight?
