Harry was entertaining with anybody, and I love Jack Brickhouse, even though he was a total homer. But watching the Cubs for many years, I definitely like and appreciate the Len/Bob combo, they're good.

For other teams, Denny Matthews here in KC is just terrific, it is so easy to watch a Royals game. I could listen these guys broadcast every Cubs game and be perfectly content. Smoooooth.

Vin Scully is so old now, but he was/is so very good. The last of the old-time broadcasters still working.

I think it is ironic that our two most-hated rival teams (Cards and Sox) arguably have the two worst broadcast teams, as well.

I really like the Braves' TBS crew (Skip and Chip along with Don Sutton and Pete Van Wieren) even though I know they are unpopular here.

The best non-Len and Bob announcers, though, are Vin Scully and Harry Kalas. Both are incredible.

Pittsburgh's radio and TV guys are just plain awful. Dead-air, moronic comments, stories that have no relevance, etc. I listen to music while watching those games.

I don't mind Buck's actual call, but he has admitted he has a bias against the Cubs, and he should not be allowed to do national Cubs games on Fox.

Skip's great. Don Sutton isn't with TBS anymore though. He does Nationals' games now.

Crap. I keep confusing Sutton and Joe Simpson for whatever reason. I knew one was with the Nationals, but thought it was Simpson. Skip and Chip together is probably my favorite duo on TV, Skip and Pete together is best on the radio.

Agreed. The new Brewers guys are awful too.

I didn't know Buck has publicly admitted an anti-Cub bias. I recall watching a few Saturday FOX games last year and thinking he was going out of his way to be impartial, so much so that it was obvious.

But for the local broadcast here, they are just giving the local idiots what they want. They hang on to this idea that Z will fizzle and they can dance around him, laughing all the way. Nevermind that he just shut their team down. Again.

I've never been a big fan of Chip (even when he was doing Cubs games), but I agree about Skip and Pete on the radio. I think they do an amazing job.

I don't know who the Cardinals radio guys are, but the PBP guy made every ball a Cardinal put in play sound like the most exciting play ever.

Chip used to have a prematurely excited call, but that guy makes him sound like Ben Stein on Valium.

Aside from the occasional rib towards the Cubs, I think Joe Buck does a pretty good job. He's no Jack, but he's at least mildly entertaining, especially when the Cardinals aren't playing the Cubs so the only obvious target for his subtle insults are the Cardinals themselves.
