CSN is saying Fox is going down, as well. I'm be kinda surprised though, Lou did say he wanted to keep him around for a couple of weeks to give him a fair shot.

anybody else heard this? Or is it possible that CSN reported wrong that Fox was demoted instead of Moore? If fox is demoted as well I would have to imagine Murton has been called back up. Either that or a trade.

The article in the Trib also said Fox was the one likely to go down.

If true, then this is further evidence against Hendry's ability to manage a 40 man roster.

The latest ESPN 1000 update still says Levine is reporting Moore being sent back down.

The chicagosports.com article says Fox will "likely" be sent down; that could be the writer's speculation as opposed to actual knowledge. Moore does make more sense to me in light of Lou's comments about Fox when he was called up. I gather the move hasn't been made official yet (it may not until right before game time), so until an official announcement comes it may just be speculation concerning who goes down.

Plus the fact that Fox would have been added to the 40-man roster for 1 at-bat in a week. Pretty stupid if that's what happens.

But it's not like they lost somebody of value to put him on the roster. The worst part is starting the option clock, but he isn't exactly a guy we need 4 years to determine if he can help the team.

Adding Fox to the 40 man wasn't that big of a deal unless nobody on the 40 man is traded by the time Kerry comes back which would kind of surprise me. Even so, losing Buck Coats would not be a tragedy.

It will be if they let him go before they let go of the awful Brian Dopirak.

It's official and it is Moore.

The Chicago Cubs today announced that infielder Ronny Cedeno has been recalled from Triple-A Iowa. In a corresponding move, infielder Scott Moore was optioned to Iowa following Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Cedeno will be there for tonight's game.

Cedeno, who wears uniform No. 5, is available for tonight's game against the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium beginning at 7:10 p.m. CT.

Boy, didn't take Cedeno long to make an error.

Didn't take him long to get an important RBI either.

Wouldn't have taken Murton to long either. What's your point?

Mind you, that's a play that Theriot very well might have needed to dive at just to get to. As such, there's no guarantee he would have made an error.

Better range gives more chances to make "errors."

Is that kinda like how the best base stealers are also the ones who get thrown out the most?

well, sort of, but that doesn't always hold up, and the definition of best basestealer is kind of vague (do you mean high total and high percentage or just highest total or something else?). but yeah, that's the basic idea.

It depends. If their percentage is low, yet still have a high stolen base total, then they aren't that good of a base stealer. However, if they have a high percentage of success at stealing bases, yet acquire a high number of CS because of it, then yes, that is what it's like.

Agreed. Go Ronny! It would be great if he could shore up SS so Jim could concentrate on getting an everyday RFer and maybe another starting pitcher.

If you ask me, Between Ronnie and Ryan, SS is shored up. And between Mark and Mike, 2B is shored up. Our only place to work on is C and RF. Get a great RF and choose jaque or pie in CF. Or possibly Lofton in CF and move Jaque to RF.

The notion that Cedeno is seemingly head and shoulders faster than Riot is ridiculous, Cedeno barely has the advantage.

Theriot has faster pure speed, but Cedeno has better agility and instincts. Baserunning speed doesn't have much to do with an infielder's range.
