So what the hell has happened to Wuertz? He was untouchable for a while dating back to last year, and now he really can't get through an inning 1-2-3.

Fontenot singles home Pagan!

Geaux Cubs!

9-5!

if fontenot can get as hot as he was, this team will look tough to beat.

the problem being that milwaukee looks pretty tough to beat as well.

Who cares? We can't do anything about them. We'll win the WC if we play like we have been.

that's what i generally say as well, but it would be helpful if they started losing.

Their losing is how the Cubs went from 8.5 to 3.5 games back.

STOP walking people. :x

Jason Kendall: umm....he doesn't look any better than Hill or Bowen, does he? At least the price was cheap.

He's a career .298 hitter and an All-Star. He'll come around.

I think at this point if the Brewers were playing Atl or SD this weekend instead of SF, I'd almost be rooting for the Brewers.

Why? The Cubs are only 3.5 back of the Brewers.

Right. I'm not just saying the Brewers aren't catchable, but they might be less catchable than the WC teams ahead of us.

I see. That I can agree with. The teams in the WC chase have many more harder intra-division games than the Cubs do.

If Jacque keeps hitting, he may be an acceptable option for CF the rest of the way.

Yes, I agree.

jacque from last year would look mighty good as we near september.

I was just thinking the same thing.

Still like to see RF upgraded but it would help us a lot.

I pretty much figured they'd keep winning even after Sheets went out. It was just too simple to think they'd suddenly collapse or something. It's galvanized them instead. They're tough.

I agree on the WC. Padres have a tougher schedule, if we keep winning it's questionable that they could stay ahead.

Thank goodness I know you're being sarcastic with all of these comments. :D
