The minor leagues are supposed to be about the young kids. Helping the kids become major leaguers. He's only out for himself, just like he always was. All he ever cared about was winning - winning - winning.

This person has portrayed herself as someone who has connections to either the Cubs or the Tribune or perhaps both. Then she slanders Teddy Greenstein by saying the reason he isn't a beat reporter is because he isn't allowed to travel. Insinuaiting what, I have no idea.

 

Previously she portrayed herself as someone in the know about how MLB operates and how the MLB owners don't like Jeff Loria. When I asked her to subtantiate her opinon, her answer was "trust me I know but I can't tell you because I like my job" or some other such nonsense.

 

I don't know any other people who say they have "sources" or insinuate that they have inside information but want to remain anonymous who post here.

 

She could be legitimate. I couldn't care less. If you can't or won't substantiate your claims, it is best to not make them. And I'm not talking about statistics or who is a better second baseman or what-have-you.

 

But hey, everyone is entitled to his/her opinion. Preach away.

I'm sure Bruce Miles wouldn't post here if his employer told him not to. I'm sure many people working under Cubs brass have been instructed not to discuss what might be considered inside information on message boards. That would include janitors, secretary's, interns, etc....

 

For all we know, this person has been cleaning the Cubs GM's office for the last 20 years. Maybe it is Paul Sullivan's personal secretary if he even has one. Who cares, really?

 

She's been very harmless, and I haven't been bothered one bit by her request to stay anonymous.

That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. If you were worried about your job would you insinuate that you have inside information that could get you fired if you reveal how you obtained the information? Especially if you "like getting paid"? Just so you could look important on a message board.

How is that "slander"? Its only slander if it is not true, and in Mr. Greenstein's case, there would likely need to recklessness or malicious intent b/c he is a public figure.

Yeah, so what? That somehow makes her a less valuable source? Does Hoops want his identity to be known? He clearly has some pretty good connections whose identities could be compromised if he reveals himself. Couldn't Hoops himself be the source, and he is using the "my sources tell me" stuff to protect himself?

Well, I was referring to being respectful of other posters on NSBB, which is in the member guidelines. We all do a pretty good job of ripping players, management, brass and beat reporters, etc.... :P

Except we don't pretend to be someone we're not.

 

Boy do I know some stories about Yosh, the equipment manager. Let's just say no one walks by him without a cup on. But I can't say anymore. I like a paycheck, it's a good thing to be paid.
