See my post for what I would like/expect out of Soto. I dont think anybody here is expecting an All Star, but with the crap alternatives we have, Soto like you said should be given starts 5 days a week.

He probably will be... I can't imagine that he's here to be a backup to a guy who can't hit a beach ball right now. But sitting him against a (normally) tough RHP is not a bad idea. He'll play tomorrow against Wandy, and he'll probably play about four games next week.

Lets hope so. Even though his line didnt look good yesterday, Soto hit the ball hard 2 of the 5 times up. The k's he looked pretty bad on, but definatly no worse than Bowen has looked today.

The Giants series has me worried. While their lineup is obviously terrible, we're going to see:

Lincecum

Cain

Morris

Zito

the only guy that's really scary is lincecum. Cain can be good, Morris and Zito suck

It's tough to be too scared of anyone at the moment with the way this team is playing.

Cain has me little worried, but not really worried about the others. I'm seriously worried about Magic Wandy tomorrow.

Lincecum has a great arm, but he's a RHP, who we've been hitting well lately. So is Cain. Morris' ERA belies mediocre secondary stats, and Zito hasn't pitched well this year. But Zito probably scares me the most because he's lefthanded.

But yeah, the Cubs should be able to hold down that piss poor lineup of theirs. As long as they don't let Bonds beat them singlehandedly.

Cain has a 3.53 ERA. That's not "pretty bad."

Morris is at 3.55.

I'm worried because Zito, Cain, and Lincecum all are capable of shutting us out. Not that I'm expecting it from any of them, but there's little doubt that they have the potential to do that.

He's giving up quite a few walks. His other numbers were better than I thought they were. I take the "pretty bad" comment back.
