Theriot, SS

The only question is SS. I think I heard Theriot but it went by quickly.

Can we switch JJ and Z in the order?

It's ridiculous that Hendry has put us in a situation that we're extremely excited to see Soto get his chance.

Honestly though. Barret's offense has not been great since the trade either. Are you so upset that a catcher in our own system who is tearing up AAA is getting a chance in the MLB?

No. Not at all. I'm happy Soto is getting his chance. I just think Hendry put us in a bad position by making the catcher's spot another offensive hole in the lineup when we already had 3 (SS, RF, CF). We need more offense, not less.

I don't agree. Other teams are able to bring up their hot hitting prospects to determine if their MiL numbers can translate on the ML level, there's no reason why we can't be "excited" about the potential of Soto... Blanco's health problems coupled with K. Hill's light hitting make it very possible that Soto would have been recalled even if Barrett were still a Cub (Besides, I think that Geovany's injury, earlier in the year, is what kept him from coming up sooner).

Since joining the Padres, Barrett is hitting .289/.289/.356 with 5 RBI and 2 runs scored. In other words, if he were still a Cub, many people would be frustrated with MB because he's continuing to under produce and, as I already mentioned, many people would probably be saying "Soto's hitting .341 at AAA, let's see what he can do!"

Now we'll get the opportunity to see if Soto can help offensively and defensively.

I'm happy with that. Hopefully Jones improves his trading value

Have you guys noticed that the Cubs' lineup on MLB.com is always one of the later ones to be posted?

Yes! I hate it every single day when I go check the lineup. Games that start an hour after Cubs gams have their lineups up already before the Cubs do. I've heard it has to do with the wind at Wrigley which keeps it from going up an hour or more before.

The Cubs better hit some home runs today. They are going to need them. Carlos Lee is in the house.

Carlos Lee in left and Soriano in right sounds so delicious.
