I said good. As much as I think he sucks during the off-season, Hendry has made some good in-season trades over the years (Ramirez and Nomar in particular).

I don't think people will be too upset if Hendry makes a deal because I think a deal he makes at the deadline will be a pretty good one. My best guess is that the Cubs will make no more than minor moves, which will probably disappoint many fans.

It's good because it means they are in it. Whether or not they are in the race, Hendry is still going to be the GM and still likely to do the wrong thing. So I'd rather the Cubs be contender and Hendry screw up than have them not be contenders and have Hendry screw up.

Exactly. I have no faith in Hendry in any situation...at least if they're buyers, there's a chance he could get lucky like the Ramirez trade or Lee trade.

This is why it's good, and it's what I picked, but it's also bad. Not necessarily because I think Hendry will sell low (there are multiple pieces on this team that can't be sold low enough), but because I have faith in his ability to still screw crap up in ways completely unforeseeable. I still have low hopes for this season anyway, so whatever.

Any time you're a legitimate buyer at the deadline is a good thing, and Hendry - like some have mentioned already - has been very good at midseason acquisitions.

I'm of the mind, though, that no matter what Hendry does, somebody will criticize him. That's just the way the situation is right now.
