CUBS are 30-15 when their pitchers average 15 pitches per inning or less..... 14-27 when they don't

Go CUBS !!

Hey fred, out of those 14 wins, how many are Z starts? I'd bet a good majority of them. Z throws lots of pitches, many times, win or lose.

They're pretty evenly distributed. Zambrano has 4 while Lilly, Hill & Marquis each have 3.

This is why it's hard to count on Z as your ace. He certainly has ace stuff and pitches like an ace at times. But othertimes hes so frustratingly inconsistant.

Come on now. He's an ace regardless of this one bad start. If anything, he's been the only consistent pitcher we've had. First 2 months consistently bad and last month and a half consistently good

This game is definitely not over.

That's what I'm saying. If he was solid over the first 2 months with a bad start spinkled in, thats one thing and I'd be willing to overlook a start like today. But when you put all his starts together for this year, his ERA is over 4 and his WHIP is over 1.40 (i think)
