Cubs.com[/url]"]Count Bob Brenly among those that might be interested in the vacant Reds manager's job.

The name of the former Diamondbacks manager and current Cubs television analyst surfaced as a potential successor to Jerry Narron, who was dismissed Sunday as Cincinnati's manager.

"It's all rumors. I haven't heard anything from anybody," Brenly said Wednesday.

Don't expect Brenly to screen his calls, however, should Reds general manager Wayne Krivsky be on the other end of the phone.

"I'd be interested in talking," said Brenly, a Coshocton, Ohio, native and 1976 graduate of Ohio University.

Good for him if he wants it and gets it....I'm not wanting for stifling a man's career, I just horror to think about who they'd throw in the box with Len for the rest of the year....Dave Otto....Ewwww.

Give Mark Grace a call, I am thinking he has an out clause to go to the Cubs. Or Bill Murray to fill out the rest of the year ;-). Then he can talk about his desire to buy the team.

With MacPhail gone, might be Stoney...

Len and Steve... that'd be an awesome team!

IMHO, that would be the best booth in baseball. Although I have grown to like Brenly now, too.

I'd like to see the return of Gracie. I've listened to him from time to time, he's pretty good. Ex-Cubs seem to do well -- Sutcliffe is listenable, too.

Well alright, except for Carter :D

I think he's under contract to WSCR. I don't think they'd let one of their talents moonlight with a competing station.

I wouldn't think it is that difficult to work something out, but you might be right.

Talkin bout ex-cubs. Get Lee smith. man that guy is HI-larious.

He's no good as CC mind you. But he'd keep telling stories about where he slept in each ballpark.

I happen to love brenly's analysis. Sometimes something is so corny that it is...in fact, funny! Kasper has been on point as well this year.

What's Joe Girardi doing these days?

Probably busy blocking his cell phone from anyone in the Reds organization.

Girardi gets interviewed by every team and is never hired. Wonder why?

The Orioles wanted him badly but he said no. Smart move.

Girardi said no to the Nats too. I'm not sure Girardi has been interviewed by anyone and been turned down except for the Cubs of course.

And Mark Grace is a horrendous announcer.
