Aw man, I can't answer. I was hoping to open the thread and find the question was, "Do you give a crap?"

I went to the ballpark last night and stopped after one hot dog.

Last I'd heard, Kobayashi wasn't competing because of a jaw injury.

Being as Chestnut already broke Kobayashi's World Record earlier this year, the smart money seems to be on him.

do people really care?

ESPN Does.

Seriously, can't you guys lighten up and appreciate the spectacle for the sheer entertainment value of it? It's not as if ESPN portrays the hot dog eating contest on the same level as the World Series or Super Bowl. It's a tongue-in-cheek (pun intended) competition that only rolls around once a year, and it's all in good fun.

Kobayashi is on the DL.

I'm pretty sure he's going to be in it still.

Kobayashi's playing possum with the "jaw injury"

He'll destroy Joey Chesnut

I don't think he'll destroy Chestnut. Chestnut has eaten more than he ever has.

More like bun in cheek. GET IT? GET IT?

these hot dogs must've been smaller.... how could they both eat 10 more than last year?

They both started doing gay porn movies between the contests. It helped with their training.

I felt bad for Kobayashi. No one was rooting for him to win, and yet he still went out there with jaw tendinitis and broke his previous record.

And to add to all of that, it was the judges decision because it was so close.

Technically he should have been DQ'd because of a "Reversal of Fortune".
