Wow. He looked good, but it's been 1 inning. Let's get at least a couple more out of him before we judge his stuff.

You guys are such Cub fans! Always so optimistic!

His stuff looked good - not afraid to come inside with the hard stuff, and a late beaking cut fastball or slider. I like what I saw.

Yeah, no matter how hard you throw (hit 98 in the 8th), you can't throw a fastball down the heart of the plate to ML hitters......

And you can't give up more Runs than Hits. The walk is more upsetting than the HR.

They mentioned in the game thread that he wasn't throwing his sinker for strikes which is his biggest pitch - he does have some great stuff though. I'll watch the game when I get home but it's nice to hear that he at least did well that first inning.

I really hope he gets to start again in the minors.

98 MPH on the Wrigley Speed gun isnt too shabby. 1 BB and 2 Ks in his debut.

Really like the whole challenging the hitter concept. Several others down in the pen should take a little notice.

Was a laser beam that got hit out. No shame in that at all.

"It was a 'Jump to Conclusions' mat. You see, it would be this mat that you would put on the floor, and it would have different conclusions written on it that you could jump to. "

Jeeez - this Petrick kid looks legit........just dominated the side in his ML debut, hitting 96 several times. How refreshing....

haven't you people learned not to start threads like this in the middle of a game?

I learned my lesson about posting "in game" back in '94. I had Tuffy Rhodes roaming the Wrigley outfield for at least a decade!!
