I'm gonna be starting the first year of a keeper league, so everyone is up for grabs.

I just got word that I have the #2 pick in the draft. So, great I get my choice of Larry Johnson or Stephen Jackson (leaning toward Jackson). But I don't pick again (12 team league) til 23rd. I have been offered to basically trade draft picks for the entire draft from 2nd to 9th.

My question is 2/23 better than 9/16?

Go with the 2/23 and take Jackson.

Yeah, I'm gonna keep my pick. I figure, anytime you can get a superstar, get him. Jackson is probably as close as there is outside of LT as a lock for 1500 yards and 12-15 TDs. At 9, I'd be looking at a guy like Maroney, Westbrook, Ronnie Brown, and Rudi Johnson. The 1st 3 are risks in some form.

I'm hoping a great WR slips to me at 23, because everyone goes RB crazy.

I'd definately stick where you are. I don't remember if you are doing a keeper league or not, but Jackson will be great at #2 and an awesome keeper for the next couple of years.

At #23, you should see what is on the board and decide to get either a top WR or get a #2 RB and then get a top WR after the #1 pick takes his two selections.

It is a keeper league, but we can't keep players drafted in the 1st 2 rounds. We can keep anyone else, but we lose that pick in the next year's draft.

Oh, well that changes my opinion then. What's the point of that rule, confusion?

It's supposed to create better competition, so year in and year out you don't have the same team winning. Though, I don't see how that's even possible as volatile as football is.

No kidding. I mean, in the keeper league we're in, it's year 3 and my keepers are completely different from my keepers from last year. And did well both years too.
