If it's Barrett and EPatt for Linebrink and Bowen (as reported in other thread), I don't like that trade at all.

There was a rumor on another Cubs board that its Bowen and Linebrink for Barrett and Eric Patterson. If so, this is a terrible trade.

While at the Cubs BCB game on Saturday I told Al that the Padres catcher Rob Bowen was the nephew of my boss and that I wanted him to do well, but with the Cubs still winning. Well, its 7:30 a.m. here and my boss said he just got a call from his sister and that Rob Bowen has been traded to the Cubs. I can not find out who for because I havent seen it announced yet. Just thought I would give everyone a heads up.

I wouldn't mind Bowen, who is 26 and has a nice .371 OBP this year in limited playing time. But I don't know about his minor league history.

Bowen's numbers do not look terrible this year, but its a really small sample size.

It does sound exactly like a trade Hendry would make. While I'm on the Fontenot bandwgn, I don't think he's established himself as the 2b of the future just yet. EPatt wasn't going to bump Pie from CF or play a corner position in the OF. Still brings enough tools to give him a shot somewhere, though.

I really hope those reports are wrong. No way should they be moving EPatt for such a mediocre deal.
